ZENITH KALEO - Divine Calling: Do Children Have Angels?
Updated: Jul 12, 2019
Angels...there is a whole mystery in itself, yet one that God in all His knowledge of all things that be, is delighted to share with us, for angels more than anything, I mean angels who are functioning in their intended role, are all about you and I and the number of them is so large it boggles our finite oriented minds.
The writings say;
"To which one of the angels did He (God) ever say, 'Sit down here at My right hand (the place of greatest honor, protection and love) while I make every one of your enemies your footstool.'
Are they (the angels) not all ministering, serving and attendant spirits, sent forth to execute the commands of those who are purposed to inherit salvation" (Hebrews 1:13-14).
It is a strange thing, that all of creation has one thing as it's primary purpose and this includes these beings called 'angels', and that purpose is all about the likes of you and me.
God created all things with mankind in mind.
Listen to how David the songwriter (by the way, God loves songwriters it seems) stated it. Just for fun, try singing it as you read it;
"For the choir director; on the Gittith. A Psalm of David.
O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth, You who has displayed Your splendor even higher than the heavens!
From the mouth of infants and nursing babes sucking joyfully at their mother's breasts, You have established strength and power, and this is because of those adversaries, To make the enemy and the revengeful ones to cease from the land.
When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained; What is man that You take thought of him, and the son of man that You care for him?
Yet You have made him a little lower than the angels, and yet You crown him with Your own glory and majesty!
You have made him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet,
All sheep and oxen, And also the beasts of the field, The birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea and whatever passes through the paths of the seas.
O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth!" (Psa 8:1-9)
So What About Children and Angels?
Jesus, in the Son of God instructions given to us, often referred to children and the significance of children in relation to the great wonders of God. He even told his apprentices that followed him that unless they go back again and become as little children they would miss entirely what God has meant for them. (see Matthew 18:3).
But Jesus also made a curious, powerful statement regarding children and angels when he said the following;
"See that you don't despise, look down on, or disdain one of these little ones. Beware! For I tell you, that in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father who is in heaven." (Mat 18:10)
So, we have children, we have their angels, and we have the angels of the children continually beholding the face (the image and likeness) of the Father - the Originator of all things and in this case the Originator of the children.
Yes! Children do have angels assigned to them and one thing we learn about angels is they are messengers or bearers of words from God to us.
So what do we have here and how does this relate to ones 'kaleo' or 'calling'?
1). Every child (which you once were) has at least one angel if not more, and this angel is a messenger.
2). The child's angel serves as a direct link between God the Father and Originator of the child's essential being acting as a communicative intermediary between Creator and child.
3). Being a messenger, the angel of the child is a direct link between the Word by which God made them and the continuing life of the child.
I make this statement from time to time because it is true, that 'no one gets in here without a word from God.' (see John 1:1-4).
In the arena of their success, not only did Jesus direct his apprentices to go back again and discover who that child was, but he added something else about the child that was and is a warning to us all when he said;
"Most assuredly I tell you, unless you turn back, and become again as little children, you will in no way enter into the Kingdom (wonders and splendors) of Heaven. Whoever therefore humbles himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.
Whoever receives one such little child in my name receives me, but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him that a huge millstone should be hung around his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depths of the sea.
Woe to the world because of occasions of stumbling! For it must be that the occasions come, but woe to that person through whom the occasion comes!
See that you don't despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven." (Mat 18:3-7, 10 HNV)
The above word translated 'to stumble' is the word 'skandalizo' which you can see is very close to our English word 'scandalize' and means 'to impede the progress of, to cause to fall away, to violate the propriety thereof'.
Yikes! God places high priority on the creation of human life.
Don't mess with a child. Don't mess up a child. Don't mess with the child's angel.
If you get me started, I could go on for awhile about parenting and the travesty of our education system (not that I have been the perfect parent...but I've learned things) in the suppression of the child's eternal mission and purpose.
The child's upbringing, learning and education ought to be in accord with the child's purpose and that purpose lives in the realm of the divine.
We have offended these little ones in so many ways, and not only those little ones but the little ones that each and every one of us has been as the spiritual darkness, out of fear of who it is we are and our discovery of that person, has worked to thwart the high purposes of God in our lives.
How many people today are unaware of their divine destiny? How many today are living purposeless lives and as we mentioned yesterday, where there is no open vision the individual deteriorates and does so rapidly.
But I do have good news!
It's never too late. Jesus instruction to his apprentices about rediscovering the intentions of heaven for us, teaches us that recovery is possible and we can in fact go back to the beginning, because what was there, the created purpose of God for our lives, is still there,waiting for us.
One of the great truths of God's love towards us is that His gifts and His callings are irrevocable. (see Romans 11:29).
Abraham didn't really begin to find his groove until he was about 80 years old. This should encourage us. The same is true for Moses, and the same principle of the irrevocable 'kaleo' is true for you and I as well.
Involved in The Kaleo Method of Success, are exploratory exercises designed to reacquaint the individual with the wonders of their childhood and the messenger(s) meant to serve you in discovery of your divine inheritance.
Let me close today with this however, that it is not the messengers or angels that are important here, it is the message that is important.
All of this talk of children by Jesus in Matthew 18 was brought about because his apprentices questions regarding success, particularly which one of them was going to have the most success and be the greatest among them.
