ZENITH KALEO - Divine Calling: To Live or Die - The Discernment of Spirits
Updated: Aug 5, 2019
As we began to point out in yesterday's post, the interest of God is not, nor has it ever been your diminishing, but rather the interest of the Spirit who is God, the ever active power of pure life, unmixed and unmingled with any other thing but absolute life, is now and has always been your expansion, opening to you the treasures of infinity within the context of your own created and eternal purpose.
There is a strange thing though we learn about within the creation, that sometimes for a thing to become larger and greater, it must first become smaller.
Like a river, sometimes the force of power in our own lives is found in the power of life being compressed into a narrow channel of a canyon versus the broad and lazy nature of a delta.
The Son of God instructions by Jesus, humankind's Savior, explain such things to us this way;
"Enter through the narrow gate (passage, channel). For wide is the gate (passage, channel) and broad is the course that leads to meandering, uselessness, ruin and repeated losses, and there are many who come based upon it. But small is the gate (passage, channel) and narrow the course that leads to life, and only a few search for this to find it." (Matthew 7:13-14)
Anyone who has ever done construction or even gardening for that matter knows that sometimes in order to fix a mess you have to make a mess as you deconstruct and remove the debris that will not serve the intent and vision within the master plan.
The conceptual idea behind the word 'temperance' in scripture is about this same picture of cleaning out from our lives things that are a drag against our efficiency, taking out what does not serve our calling so we can move forward with ease and not constantly be dealing with things that keep us mired in unproductive, low value activities, all related to our supernatural purpose.
The very first foundation to be laid into the life of a Theocentric person following the way of Jesus Christ is a thing called 'Repentance from Dead Works' (see Hebrews 6:1-3).
This is the activation within us to follow a divine process of Holy Spirit living in which we are continually (forever) open to the transformation of our thought processes as the active, engaged and living Spirit of God comes to us and teaches us what holds no real value and what does hold value on an eternal scale, and our turning from what 'doesn't work' to 'what does work' from a divine, God level, eternal point of view.
Discernment of Spirits
Into this context I want to offer to you a basis you can use to know what kind of spiritual entities are present in any activity you are observing in your life or the lives of others.
The ability to discern varying types of spiritual activity is important as there are in essence two kinds of impetus, and what ultimately happens in the life of a person is related to the animating energies (spirit influences) with which they are, wittingly or unwittingly, in communication.
Though we've already covered the idea that debris removal is often the first step in construction, how can we know what activities are from God with our growth and highest success at its core and how can we also discern what is not the animations of God but something being broadcast from another energetic animation (spirit).
First of all there is good and there is evil, as Jesus taught, "You will know them by their fruits" (Matthew 7:16-20), but sometimes when there are so many voices and many false voices clamoring for attention the 'what is good and what is evil' test can be difficult.
A second test is the 'life or death' test. Is it positive or is it negative, is it building up or is it destroying (which is different than the 'narrowing process' to achieve greater efficiency), is it moving to positive action or is it moving to negative action?
But the ultimate basis of our evaluation or discernment of spiritual animating influences comes down to who we believe God to be and what is the image and likeness of He who is Ultimate Power. We are all the products of what we truly believe is power.
Discernment and The Two Words
With this in mind I want to give you two Hebrew words.
1). Word One is 'Yasha' which is the base word for 'save, savior, salvation, deliver, prosper, deliverer, deliverance and victory. This may be one of the most important terms you come across for Yasha describes maybe more than any other concept the God effect, rooted in the very essence and nature of who it is that God is in His image and His likeness and what happens whenever the Spirit of God is present, including His life inside of you. You are altered by Yasha.
Another way to say that is whatever is not Yasha also is not God.
Now, what does Yasha mean?
Yasha by definition means: To make wide, to enlarge, to make more spacious, to make ample, to make broad, to open, to release, to free, to liberate, to cut the chains, to give unrestricted freedom of movement, to give freedom to breathe, to be unbound, to be released from anything that would limit, to be greater and more than what presently is, to know unlimited expanse, to make a thing all sufficient and sufficient for all, to know no outer limit, to have no end.
2). Word Two is 'sarar' and Hebrew scholars tell us you can't grasp the full effect of 'Yasha' apart from this opposite and contrasting word. In this second word we have the 'not God effect' but in actuality the 'void of God' effect.
Sarar by definition means: To make a thing more narrow, to bind and to restrict, to oppress, to push down and make smaller, to make tight, to restrict the breath, to make inadequate, to make insufficient and inferior, to take away, to make less in power, strength, capacity and ability.
Notice that it is not the narrowing in order to make a thing more powerful, efficient and more streamlined, but it is a narrowing designed to make the person less in power, strength, capacity and ability. It steals from the person.
A clear perception of the image and likeness of God and the ever consistent 'God effect' is vital to our own ability to recognize His presence whenever He is active in creating.
I remind you, God is love, God is light, God is life, God is good, God is peace, God is joy. God is patient. God is kind. God helps you believe. God lifts. God streamlines for ever greater greatness in you and in me.
Is this the image that you have? Truthfully now, is this what you think God is like? Or, is there some other image evoked in you when I refer you to God?
Jesus discussed this plainly when he taught us;
"I am the gate (the door, the passage); whoever enters through me will be saved (Yasha). They will come in and go out, and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (Jhn 10:9-10)
Your success is important to God because you were made exactly for His love.
Your success is important to me and so many others too.
We're counting on you.
I hope they have been and will continue to be beneficial to you.
ZENITH KALEO then! To the high calling and your excellence within the channel ordained for you.
